BRUNSWICK — Brunswick police have closed a section of Maine Street after an early-morning fire swept through a three-story building on the northern end of the street.

No vehicles will be allowed on Maine Street from the intersection of Mill Street to Bank Street. Traffic from Topsham will be diverted to Mill Street.

The fire was reported at 2:30 a.m. at 45 Maine St. High winds fanned the flames and turned it into a three-alarm fire that included Wildflours Gluten-Free Market & Bakery on the first floor and several apartments on the second and third floors.

The Red Cross is assisting displaced residents with temporary housing. A Brunswick dispatcher reported no injuries from the fire, which is under investigation by the state Fire Marshal’s Office.
