WILTON — A 15-year-old boy from Wilton is accused by police of breaking into nine vehicles over the last two weeks.

The teenager, whose identity police withheld because of his age, has been charged with burglary, a class D misdemeanor, and theft, a class E misdemeanor, Wilton police Chief Heidi Wilcox said.

The first seven of the car burglaries occurred the weekend of Oct. 24 around Curve Street and the public parking lot behind Main Street in downtown Wilton. The teenager also is charged in connection with two car burglaries that happened the weekend of Oct. 31 on Stockford Avenue.

All nine of the vehicles were unlocked, Wilcox said. In all, a laptop, a purse, a backpack, a tool chest and several other items were stolen from the vehicles.

The teenager will face charges through the juvenile corrections system, Wilcox said.
