Elm City Bridge Club
First place at the Elm City Bridge Club Jan. 11 went to Rona Backstrom and Jessie Gunther, closely followed by Su Morrison and Gabrielle Rice.
Games begin at 12:30 p.m. Tuesdays at the Waterville Elks Lodge, 76 Industrial St.; new players are welcome.

Capitol City Duplicate Bridge Club
The Capitol City Duplicate Bridge Club winners Jan. 30 were Paul Mitnik and Deb Gardner. Marilyn Ware and Martha Morrill finished second; Ron Cote and David Offer finished third.
Winners for Jan. 22 were Tom Simmons and Deb Gardner. Fred Letourneau and Sharron Hinckley finished second; Mitnik and Paul Sherman tied Pat Damon and Dan Townsend for third.
The winners Jan. 23 were Simmons and Anil Goswami. David Martz and Kate Martino tied Mitnik and Gardner for second place.
Winners for Jan. 15 were Mitnik and Paul Sherman. Jean Bird and Nancy Lindgren tied Pat Damon and Dan Townsend for second.
Winners Jan. 16 were Glenn Angell and Dennis Purington. Martha Morrill and Marilyn finished second; Mitnik and Sherman finished third.
The games are played at noon Wednesday and 6 p.m. Thursday at the East Winthrop Baptist Church, 55 Old Village Road.
Participants should bring a partner. Those who need a partner can call Mitnik, the director, at 207-313-2648 at least two days in advance of the scheduled games.
