MONMOUTH — The Maine Mature Drivers Project, sanctioned by The Maine Bureau of Highway Safety, is offering a 90-minute presentation on safe driving.
The presentation, comprising 60 minutes of information and a 30-minute Q&A, is set for 10 a.m. Saturday, March 29, in the lower level of Cumston Hall at 796 Main St.. It is free to the public.
Presenter Dr. Tom Meuser is a clinical psychologist and applied gerontologist who recently retired from his role as founding director of University of New England Center for Excellence in Aging & Health. He’s a recognized expert in driver fitness in aging, having worked in this field for 25-plus years, according to a news release from Mary Beth Paquette, chair, Age-Friendly Monmouth.
The presentation is intended to be informative and self-empowering and will review three topics:
• What is medical fitness to drive?
• Maine driving laws
• The value of planning ahead
