The Jefferson Historical Society plans to host its second open house from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, at the Old Jefferson Town House, 7 Gardiner Road, Jefferson.
New residents are especially invited to view some of the many photos from Jefferson’s past; certainly longtime residents and visitors are always welcome.

On the upper floor a millinery shop and a portion of items found in kitchens are featured. Other displays on that floor include the old selectmen’s room, maps, military photos, CCC camp, a corner of a child’s bedroom, a portion of the old Post Office, large photos of stores and building, items from the Civilian Army Air Corps volunteers airplane spotters and more.
The basement and main floor are full of photos and items from Jefferson’s past.
Light refreshments will be available in the basement. Jefferson memorabilia and vintage photo calendars will be available on the main floor. The last two open houses are set for 3-5 p.m. on Sundays, Aug. 18 and Sept. 8.
