Spectrum Generations, in collaboration with Healthy Living for ME, is holding a series of wellness workshops this fall designed to help individuals of all ages and abilities improve their health, well-being and overall quality of life.

Whether one seeks to increase physical activity, manage chronic conditions, or navigate the challenges of caregiving, these workshops aim to offer valuable tools and support.

• Oakland — Tai Chi for Health and Balance will be offered at Messalonskee Middle School, 33 School Bus Drive, at 6 p.m. Mondays from Sept. 23 through November.

The workshop, suitable for all ages and ability levels, is ideal for anyone looking to increase physical activity, reduce falls, or manage chronic conditions such as arthritis, chronic pain, or Parkinson’s disease. Through slow, gentle movements, Tai Chi helps improve balance, relieve pain, and enhance overall health. The practice incorporates mind-body integration, controlled breathing and focused concentration.

• Statewide — Living Well with Diabetes is a virtual workshop offered through Zoom from 9-11:30 p.m. Wednesdays from Oct. 16 through Nov. 20.

It offers practical skills for managing Type 2 Diabetes. Led by trained peers, the program covers essential topics such as healthy eating, preventing complications and managing stress. Participants should gain increased confidence and leave with actionable plans to improve their health and well-being in a supportive environment.

• Gardiner — Building Better Caregivers will be offered at Gardiner Family Medicine, 5 Central Maine Crossing, from 1-3:30 p.m. Mondays from Oct. 21 through Dec. 2.

The workshop is designed for individuals caring for loved ones with dementia, stroke or other cognitive conditions. The program offers practical tools for managing stress, improving self-care and addressing caregiving challenges. Participants will connect with others in similar roles, share experiences, and build confidence in their caregiving journey.

Spectrum Generations suggests a $20 donation for participation in these workshops to support its nonprofit programming. Contributions help Spectrum continue offering programs to the community; this donation is not required to participate.
