NORRIDGEWOCK — A man has been arrested and charged with murder in relation to an incident late Friday on Walnut Drive.
Kendall Allen Purnell, 38, was arrested and charged with murder, according to a news release from Shannon Moss, a spokesperson for Maine State Police.

Police responded to a 911 call that reported an assault at 40 Walnut Drive at 11:33 p.m. and upon arrival, found a deceased man and another man with a severe head injury inside the residence.
Area police were told to be on the lookout for Purnell and eventually, located him at the Irving Gas Station on Kennedy Memorial Drive in Waterville at 1 a.m.
Waterville police brought Purnell to the department where he was questioned by detectives and later arrested and charged with murder.
The injured man was brought to to Redington Fairview Hospital in Skowhegan, then transported by LifeFlight of Maine to to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor where he is currently listed in critical condition, according to the news release.
The other man’s death is under investigation by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta.
Names of the victims are not being released at this time.
As of noon Saturday, the Maine State Police Investigation Lab and a dozen other unmarked vehicles were still at the house.
