Joseph Bradbury “Brad” Shaw Jr.
AUGUSTA – Joseph Bradbury “Brad” Shaw Jr., 84, passed away on May 20, 2025 at the Gosnell Hospice Memorial House in Scarborough.
He was born on Aug. 26, 1940, a son of Marion (Verrill) and Joseph B. Shaw Sr. Brad grew up in the Augusta area and attended grade school in Chelsea and Cony High School. At the age of 17, he enlisted in the Air Force and proudly served for 2 1/2 years.
Upon his return home, Brad started a family and began working. He held a variety of jobs including working in Lipman’s Poultry, a variety of general stores, and Shaw’s Lumber. In addition, he owned Shaw’s Auto Garage in Randolph, a gym, and most notably was the long time owner of Fuss-Budget Sports cards in downtown Augusta. He took pride in the business and could be found working there every day.
Brad was an avid sports fan, particularly of all New England Sports teams.
He was predeceased by two sons, John Shaw, Joseph B. Shaw III; and his siblings.
Brad is survived by his loving partner of 47 years, Patricia Julien; his children, Jon Shaw and his wife Michelle, and Nathan Julien; his grandchildren, Josh “Hank” Shaw and his wife Brittney, Jordan Shaw, and Alaina Julien and Rylee Estabrook; and great-grandchildren, Arya and Theo Shaw.
