A 19-year-old Brunswick woman was killed Sunday morning when her SUV went off the road and crashed into a tree.
Kaylah Rusaw was driving a 2016 Nissan Rogue north on Old Bath Road when she lost control of the vehicle, crossed the roadway and collided with a tree, Brunswick Police Chief Scott Stewart said in a news release.
The crash was reported at 8:46 a.m. Sunday, in the area of Box 391.
The vehicle’s front and side airbags deployed. Rusaw was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, and speed appears to have been a factor in the accident, according to police.
Rusaw died at the scene after Brunswick Fire and Rescue freed her from the vehicle. Rescuers performed CPR for about 30 minutes but were unable to revive her, according to police.
