As an ongoing competition for subscribers, The Week, a national news magazine, conducts a weekly contest employing a specific item culled from one of its most recent published stories. In the April 29, 2022 edition, Meghan Markle was highlighted for seeking a “trademark” for the word “archetypes.” Utilizing this trademark theme, contestants were asked to suggest which celebrity would attempt to trademark the next new word.
Seven days later, the contest winners were announced: Third place went to a gentleman from Florida, who entered: Sen. Susan Collins, “Maybe.”
It is always quite comforting to realize that U.S. citizens in faraway places recognize the role our senior senator plays on the national stage. Therefore, as an interested voter, I should like to urge Sen. Collins to embrace this gentleman’s rather helpful suggestion.
As a more-than-concerned resident of Maine, however, I would like to take the liberty of suggesting additional trademarks for Sen. Collins to consider, namely: “I am concerned,” “I had a nice conversation with the candidate” and “I am not a MAGA Republican.”
