Voters from Litchfield, Sabattus and Wales passed the Regional School Unit 4 budget Tuesday on the second try.
After failing by a mere 16 votes in June, 62% of voters from the three towns voted in favor of the $23.1 million by a margin of 337-204.
Residents of all three towns in the Wales-based school district supported the budget. The totals by town were Litchfield 146-92, Sabattus 111-64 and Wales 80-48.
School officials cut about $300,000 from the proposal that failed in June.
In 2024, voters rejected the budget three times before finally passing it.
RSU 4 is beginning the school year with a new superintendent. Marco Aliberti, the former principal at Oak Hill High School, has replaced former Superintendent Katy Grondin.
