Recent polls consistently show that an overwhelming majority of Americans — approximately 89% — support the full release of the Jeffrey Epstein files by the U.S. government. This is a rare moment in which President Trump has failed to divide the nation.
Trump has been informed by his attorney general that his name appears multiple times in the files; he is terrified of having the files released. Let us not be distracted from insisting that they are released.
Remember:
• Telling the American public that there is nothing to see, and we should move on, is not releasing the files.
• Asserting that the files were fabricated by Obama and Biden to falsely persecute Trump is not releasing the files.
• Requesting that the Epstein grand jury transcripts be made public is not releasing the files.
• Calling Obama a traitor is not releasing the files.
• Having Trump’s former personal attorney interview Epstein’s sex trafficking co-conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell is not releasing the files.
This may not be the issue on which many of us would have wished that we, as a nation, would have found unity. There are so many other Trump-generated injustices. Nevertheless, it is a time to stay focused. Release the files.
