The Maine Nordiques’ move to Norway Savings Bank Arena is official.

In an announcement Thursday afternoon, the junior hockey organization stated in a news release that its teams in the North American Hockey League and the North American 3 Hockey League will play their home games at the two-rink facility in Auburn.

“The Nordiques’ new home at Norway Savings (Bank) Arena is just more than a relocation; it is a statement of the team’s commitment to long-term success and to the development of hockey in Maine,” the Nordiques’ news release said. “The team’s dedication to player advancement, community engagement, and sustainable growth promises a bright future for the Nordiques and the sport.”

The Nordiques played at The Colisee in Lewiston for their first six seasons but earlier this summer were unable come to a new lease agreement with The Colisee’s new management company, Mill Town Sports and Entertainment.
