Gardiner: Last year’s Class B champions returns Varsity Maine Player of the Year Jack Quinn, a University of Rhode Island commit who won the individual Class B title. Brady Peacock is another player expected to have a solid season. Matt Drost is the new head coach after Ian Gould became Director of Women’s Golf at Bates College.
Kents Hill: The Huskies finished third in Class C last year. Matt Lumia and Phil Skoczylas should build off their top-15 finishes in the state tournament. Coach Daniel McDonald expects Ben Harriman, Elise Inch, Jack Tartaglia, and St. Dom’s transfer Christopher Johnson to contribute.
Maranacook: The reigning Class C state champions should be competitive again, led by Ethan Chilton, Josh Herzing, Jack Fontaine and Grady Hreben, as they look to contend for MVC and state meet titles.
Messalonskee: The Eagles didn’t qualify for the Class A state championship as a team last year but did have three players who qualified as individuals — Gavin Jackson, Liam McFadden and Greyson Dooley. All three are back to lead this year’s roster.
Skowhegan: KVAC coaches noted Skowhegan’s Eddie Goff as a player to watch. He was solid at the Class A state championship last year, shooting an 81 to tie for 11th place. River Hawks coach Dave Martin said Lydia Jones has been shooting in the 30s in the preseason and is likely the team’s No. 2 player. Several others have been shooting in the high 30s or low 40s, according to Martin.
