Sen. Susan Collins voted to confirm Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for secretary of health and human services and now, most likely regrets that vote. But she must have had the information about his history of being anti-vaccination, his spreading of misinformation about the COVID vaccine, his promotion of raw milk, his claim that Lyme disease was created as a bio-weapon, plus so much more.
This was well known before Collins voted to confirm him. Now the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has lost many of its top talented scientists/doctors (top one was fired and others resigned). More than 1,000 current and former HHS workers demand that RFK Jr. resign.
I encourage Sen. Collins to read The New Republic’s Sept. 3 article “Trump’s Cabinet picks have made Republican senators look like chumps.” Her gullibility is featured in this article. What’s the expression? “Fool me once (Kavanaugh), shame on you. Fool me twice (RFK Jr.), shame on me.” But really, Collins should have known better with Kavanaugh as well.
So in conclusion, now that the health of the nation is at grave risk, Collins must apologize to her constituents and do all that she can to get RFK Jr. out and replace him with a responsible, pro-science professional.
