As residents in an assisted living facility, we are very concerned about Question 1, the so-called voter ID referendum.
Voters are being asked to make voting harder, if not impossible, for seniors and people with disabilities to cast their ballots. This a clear case of voter suppression aimed at elderly and
disabled voters. President Trump has already stated his intentions to stop all voting by mail altogether.
The last phrase of the Maine voter ID referendum question is particularly alarming: it allows making any unspecified changes to election norms and laws. We must reject this by voting “No” on this referendum question.
