Dylan Blue remained red hot, and the Maine Gladiators 18U boys hockey team won again at the USA Hockey Tier II 18U national tournament.

A day after scoring two goals against the Alabama Thunder, Blue recorded a hat trick for the Auburn-based Gladiators in their 3-2 victory over Team South Dakota on Thursday in Utica, New York.

Breck Langevin and Andrew Clements had assists on Blue’s goals. Gladiators goalie Tristan Bourassa made 41 saves.

Riley Linstad and Jackson Henry scored for South Dakota, and Lewis Jerke recorded 48 stops.

The Gladiators finish pool play against the Idaho Jr. Steelheads at 7 p.m. Friday.

Girls 14U Tier II
Casco Bay Mariners 3, State Line Hawks 2: The Mariners rallied back from a two-goal deficit to claim their second win at nationals in Coral Springs, Florida.

The New York-based Hawks went up 2-0 in the first period on goals by Anna Terjanian and Lila To.

Claudia Navrat scored the lone goal of the second period for Casco Bay and assisted on Eloise Hackett’s tally in the third period to tie the game. Reese Weaver scored the game-winning goal of the tournament later in the third period.

Casco Bay goalie Alana Wheeler stopped 20 shots in the win, and State Line’s Estela Vazquez turned aside 19 shots.

The Mariners look to remain perfect in pool play when they face HoneyBaked (Michigan) at 9:15 a.m. Friday.

Boys 16U Tier II
Atlanta Fire 3, Maine Gladiators 1: Mason Kumpel scored twice to lift the Fire past the Gladiators in Wayne, New Jersey.

Kumpel scored both of his goals in the second period after Cam Plourde gave the Gladiators a 1-0 advantage earlier in the period.

Cameron Englebert netted an empty-net goal late in the third for Atlanta.

Atlanta goalie Cameron Duda  finished with 33 saves, while Noah Robertson stopped 27 shots for Maine.

The Gladiators finish pool play against the Spokane Jr. Chiefs at noon on Friday.

Boys 14U Tier II
Casco Bay Mariners 2, Montgomery Ice Devils 1: Jackson Wing had a goal and an assist as the Mariners picked up their first victory at nationals in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Wing scored in the first period to give the Falmouth-based Mariners a 1-0 lead.

John Burman scored for Montgomery early in the second period to even the game, then Wing helped set up Austin Roy for the go-ahead goal in the final minute of the middle frame.

Harley McLean notched two assists and Zachary McCormick also recorded a helper for Casco Bay.

Mariners goalie Grady Argereow stopped 16 shots, and Ethan Rabinovitch had 24 saves for the Maryland-based Ice Devils.

Casco Bay faces the Arapahoe Warriors (Colorado) on Friday at 3:15 p.m. to wrap up pool play.
