Edward Little High School has hired Brian Jahna to be its next football coach.
Athletic director Todd Sampson said that Jahna was selected after “an extensive search process” to replace Rick Kramer, who resigned after three seasons due to time the time constraints of his new job as executive director of the Maine Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance.
“We are pleased to have Coach Jahna join the Red Eddie coaching staff,” Sampson wrote in a news release. “He brings an extensive background and resume, as well as an outstanding knowledge on both sides of the ball. He is a well-established varsity coach and has been able to transform programs across our region.”
Jahna most recently the head coach at Gray-New Gloucester from 2018-22, and before that spent six seasons leading Lake Region’s program.
“Brian has excelled at both schools, increasing participation, qualifying for the playoff multiples times, and winning several sportsmanship banners,” Sampson said.
Sampson said that Jahna will soon begin spring weight training as well as planning the Red Eddies’ summer development program. Edward Little will be holding a “Meet the Coach” event May 1 at 6 p.m. in the ELHS cafe.
“He is an exceptional coach whose coaching style and philosophies will be a great fit for the program, while committing to develop the program’s youth level through high school,” Sampson said.
