The Oakland Lions held a bench dedication ceremony Wednesday to honor the late Alan Breton, a 40-year member, at Oakland Furniture in Oakland where they presented and dedicated the bench with about 50 people attending.

Alan Breton, the store owner, passed away from cancer this past January, he was 67.

Breton’s father, Charlie Breton, owned a grocery store in Oakland for many years. Alan grew up working for his father and later took over the family business turning it into a furniture and appliance store.

Breton’s wife, Ammie, and daughter, Kelly, now run the business.
