When sitting through these Title IX school board meetings, what stands out is the contrast between Parents’ Rights in Education (PRE)-trained parents and the activists opposed to protecting girls’ sports and spaces.

PRE trains moms and dads to speak from the heart — to share their stories, experiences or simple facts that anyone can understand. We hear authenticity and respect in their words because they’re grounded in family, community and fairness. On the other hand, the opposition often comes in hot, ears pinned back, ready to intimidate anyone who might disagree with their ideology. It’s about shutting people down. Watching one side show respect, while constantly being harassed in return, says much about PRE’s leadership.

Mainers are great people. They believe in honesty, listening and standing up for what’s right. When are we going to be done letting a small, loud minority harass parents who just want fairness and safety for their girls? It’s time to move past the noise and stand firmly in protecting girls’ sports and spaces.
