Last week, the Augusta school board gave educators at the elementary schools two extra days to prepare for the start of the year, and by the end of this week all students receiving in-person instruction will have come to school.

Augusta superintendent raises concerns over lack of backup staff if some are out sick
Superintendent James Anastasio spoke about the plan to reopen Augusta schools this fall, saying the district doesn’t “have enough backup for people that are sick, such as regular subs.”
