Voters who had to make choices on primary day kept town clerks busy in some central Maine towns, but in Waterville, few voted when the only contested race was the 1st District Republican congressional contest.

The Oakland Town Council chairman will be the GOP candidate for the seat being vacated by Robert Nutting, representing Sidney and part of Oakland.

Congressional and State House primaries are on the ballots, along with local referendum questions.
